QWhen do you leave?
A:  December 29, 2008 I leave to San Diego for a week. Then I will be in South Carolina to train for about a month. The last week of training will be in Kwait. Then, I will be stationed in Baghdad, Iraq.

Q:  How long will you be gone?
A:  For about a year.

Q:  What will be your duties since you are a Navy Commander?
A:  I am joining in the armed forces. One of my missions will be to help restructure the cities of Iraq.

Q:  Where will you be stationed?
A:  In Baghdad, Iraq.

Q:  What will happen to your seat on city council?
A:  The seat is now vacant, however I hope to continue my service upon my return.

Q:  Will you be drawing money from City Council while you are gone?
A:   No.

Q:  How do we contact you while you are in Iraq?
A:  I will have internet connection and will be reachable that way. Visit my website, www.ottolee.org, to get my email and to be added to my email list for updates.

Q:  How is your family doing with news?
A:  They are very supportive. My wife has a great support system with our family and a nanny to help her with the kids while she works and I am away.

Q:  How do you feel about it?
A: I am very proud and honored to be given an important mission for the United States. I have been a Navy Reserve for almost 20 years and I am grateful to serve now.

Q:  Will you get to visit your family in the year you are gone?
A:   Yes I will be given about a week to visit my family in the middle of my term.

Q:  How safe will you be in Baghdad?
A:  It is much better now than when we first started a few years back. However, dangers are always prevalent and I will need to be careful at all times.
