SAN JOSE, CA – Otto Lee’s campaign for Santa Clara County District 3 Supervisor today announced the endorsement of Santa Clara County Supervisor Susan Ellenberg. Ellenberg cited Lee’s lifelong dedication to public service and experience as key reasons for her endorsement.
“I am proud to announce my support of Otto Lee for Santa Clara County Supervisor,” said Ellenberg. “His independence, experience, and dedication to service make him the clear choice for District 3. As the former Mayor of Sunnyvale, Otto would bring a perspective from beyond the borders of San José. As an Asian American, Otto would bring further significant diversity to the current board. And Otto's commitment to making the climate crisis a top priority will help us leave a better future for our children. I look forward to working with Otto to ensure all of our residents have an opportunity to thrive."
Ellenberg’s endorsement is a key pickup for Lee and a signal that his campaign has significant momentum heading toward the March 3rd election. Last year, Ellenberg joined the Board after a decisive electoral win. She is a considered a leading, independent voice on the Board and has been a strong champion for children and families.
Ellenberg joins a diverse coalition of elected officials, community leaders and political organizations that have endorsed Otto’s campaign because of his commitment to building affordable housing, reducing homelessness, protecting the environment and reducing traffic congestion. Earlier this week, Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen also announced his support for the campaign. “Otto has a long record of public service, fighting to keep our county and community safe,” said Rosen. “He will make a great public safety partner.”
Otto’s campaign also has the support of the Democratic Party, League of Conservation voters, Congressmember Anna Eshoo, Former US Secretary of Transportation and San José Mayor Norman Mineta, Former Congressman Mike Honda, and dozens of local elected officials.
